Many people might think exactly what I just stated in the headline of this blog post.

The big question is – why do companies change their website from time to time. Well, the answer is pretty simple: Because.
And there are several “becauses” which I would like to explain to you. They are not in any specific order so you choose which argument fits your needs most.

  1. Because No. 1: Search Engine Optimization
Website structured in the good old days (in internet business that means 2007) do not rely on certain aspects which make it easier für search engines to crawl and index the site. Our’s was no exception. We had to change this in order to make sure our customers can find our solution when looking for it in on of the popular search engines
  2. Because No. 2: The Old Looks Get Tiring
The old website has been around for a while. We liked it, so did our customers. But hey, just like Tiger Woods we like to try some new things every once in a while. The new looks are inspired by black, silver and white colors which have slight sparkle of red to cheer up the looks even more. We think the new page looks more serious while still more significant. Maybe even a little sporty and cool. Well – if you like it, let us know. If you don’t like it, let us know even more!
  3. Because No. 3: Content is King, Short Content is the Emperor
The old page had tons of content. None of which most of the people read. We know this because we keep a close eye to our customers’ behavior on our page. We knew we had to do something about the “jumpers” which did not stay long enough on the site to actually grasp the full potential of our solution and our know-how.
The new site tries to give you a short, precise and intuitive overview of what is going on with our software. If you have any further questions of how to use it, apply it to your landscape and what ever else might be on your mind – just let us know and we are happy to show you everything in a webinar presentation.
  4. Because No. 4: Multimedia Content
We wanted to embed multimedia content, such as video, animations and other stuff which was technically not possible with the old site. Therefore we had to change the technological base. Well, why not throw all the bad apples over board while already cleaning out the closet? Exactly. And this is why we did that, too.
Additional to all that, we jumped on the social media train by utilizing twitter and other platforms.
  5. Because No. 5: Restructuring of  Sales Material and Coherence of Website Representation
We are currently restructuring and improving our sales materials and we want to make sure that the materials we pass out match our web presentations fully. Keeping our presentations (in person or via webinar) in sync with our webpage is very important to us.
  6. Because No. 6: Improved Partner Support
Our partners need more and better support to service their customers. We do not have the menpower to cater all their needs so we need to provide all the necessary information in such a sense that it scales without occupying to many of our resources. The answer is simple: Improve your webpage and let your partners use this part as a sales argument as well. We listen closely to our partners’ feedback and are constantly improving our publication section, piling it up with fact sheets, white papers and other interesting material.
  7. Because No. 7: Usability of the Site
The old site had some usability flaws. This was not due to technical problems, but more due to layout and content specifications. The texts were a little to complex and we missed to keep the thin red line running through our web presentation a couple of times. The new site is supposed to remedy theses flaws. Please let us know if we succeeded and leave us a comment.
